Why is my TSH high (3.5), T3 high, and T4 low on desiccated thyroid?
I'm on a compounded natural thyroid formula similar to Armour thyroid, and I've been getting some pretty severe hypo symptoms recently fatigue, depression, brain fog, muscle joint aches, horrible concentration memory issues, and more.My TSH came back at 3.55, free T4 at 0.87 range 0.9 1.7 and free T3 at 4.51 range 2.3 4.2 .What the heck is up with these results? The high T3 seems to contradict the TSH, or else because the T4 is so low the pituitary thinks that more T4 is needed? My endocrinologist seemed a little confused himself but said that it's common for people on Armour to have low T4 and high T3 but he had no explanation for the high TSH.The range recommended by AACE is 0.3 3.04, so mine is out of that range. I also failed to mention that in July, it was 0.5, but I know that TSH lags behind serum hormone concentrations.I think it is a little too odd to be coincidence that my TSH is so much higher AND my T3 is above range, while my T4 is slightly below. Hyperthyroidism seems to me to be unlikely especially with my symptoms... I'm just wondering how this could have happened and also wondering if perhaps after a lifetime of pure T4, my body is so efficient at the conversion that Armour might just be too much T3.I have congenital athyreosis, so no thyroid and thus probably no antibodies, or at least they won't have any effect. Thanks The range recommended by AACE is 0.3 3.04, so mine is out of that range. Is desiccated thyroid the same or similar to a thyroid glandular (in effect) is armour thyroid only available?
by prescription and if not dcoes anyone know where to get it.thank you red angel

What could happen (side effects) if I take desiccated thyroid without prescription or diagnosis?

Switching from synthyroid to natural desiccated thyroid or just add a T3?
I have hypothyroidism. I've been taking synthyroid for 5 months. Doc. says my TSH is normal. I still have symptoms. I've had a mysterious case of tendinitis tennis elbow that has persisted for over a year. It goes from one elbow to another and makes a crunching sound when I bend it palm down. I've read that hypothyroidism can cause inflammation and that treatment should relieve the tendinitis. I am still tired, mood swings, and experience symptoms of hypoglycemia not sure if it's related after eating foods high in carbs palpation's, lose of sight when I stand up, falling asleep and extreme irritability , despite a normal blood glucose after eating. Anyone out there have any insight? Should I use the natural thyroid or try to get a rx for a T3 in addition to my T4? I'm batting my brains out looking for an answer.
