Info On Thyroid Cyst

Worried about a thyroid cyst?
I am a 19 year old female. So my at my physical my doctor felt my thyroid and said it felt big then I had an ultrasound done. They called me with my results and told me that it was just looked like a benign cyst which is good news. But the thing is, I've had a lot of stress in the past 6 months or so. A lot of things have been stressful, like my grandmother dying, but I had been stressing out way too much over school. I've been feeling extremely exhausted, no matter how much sleep I get, for the past 4 months I would say. Also, I have been having a pain on the right side of my neck where the cyst is for I don't even know how long, maybe six months. It's not debilitating it's just a little pain that comes and goes. It's similar to the feeling of a sore throat. I smoke so I always contributed the pain to that but now I don't know. I've gained a lot of weight though I haven't been eating healthy and am just on the borderline of being overweight for my weight and height. This is the heaviest I've ever been in my life. But I had blood work done, and everything came back fine? This confuses me because of all of the symptoms I listed above. They want me to have it checked again in 9 12 months. Knowing how fast cancer can grow not saying it is I want it to be checked earlier. My grandmother went to the doctor with very minimal symptoms and later found out that she had stage 4 cancer. The nurse called me today and my doctor is supposed to call me back soon.Only educated answers please someone that actually has knowledge about thyroid cysts. No trolls.

Has anyone ever heard of treating non-cancerous thyroid cysts with lecithin and kelp?
Is there any evidence? Does anyone have any info or experience with this matter? I do not have health insurance, but did have it looked at when I found it on my neck. It does seem to have grown bigger, and I am concernd about what it could be doing to my overall health. I was told at the clinic when they did blood work that it was normal but this was through one of the community health clinics. I do not really trust their opinion about this. If anyone has advice or has been through the same thing I would really appreciate your input, thanks

Can a thyroid cyst cause emotional symptoms even if hormone levels are normal?
To make a super long story short, in July 2008 I noticed what I thought was a hard lymph node in my neck.I recently had an ultrasound and it was discovered to be a cyst on my thyroid. I had blood work done the same day as the ultrasound and my thyroid hormone levels are normal. Due to a different set of symptoms, the doctor wanted to treat me for depression and anxiety until I told her that I didn't actually FEEL depressed. She said we'd wait and see what my thyroid levels were and then figure out whether to treat the thyroid, the depression, or both. However, when I thought about it after my appointment, I realized that I definitely do suffer from depression and assumed that my thyroid levels would come back low and that would take care of that. But then they came back normal. Could the thyroid cyst still be causing my depression, or will I have to go on anti depressants? I will be seeing my doctor on Monday to discuss my options, but anyone's personal experience or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

I have terrible headaches with thyroid cyst should i be concerned?
three nights ago i was diagnosed with a thyroid cyst and now i have terrible headaches all the time is it a symptom of anything worse than just a benign cyst?

Should I call my doctor about this thyroid cyst pain?
I have hypothyroidism and I'm on synthroid...that being said, I've had a very sore and tender thyroid for the past month mostly on the left side. A thyroid ultrasound indicated a cyst only 0.6 cm big on the left side about two weeks ago. Yesterday, both sides of my thyroid were really really sore, to the point where I had a migraine all day, and the migraine was mostly stemming from right behind both eyes Now today, I woke up with a veeery sharp pain in my left side right about where the cyst is , and it hurts more every time I swallow or turn my head. Is this something I should call my doctor about, or should I give it a while and see if it goes down? If I should wait awhile, is there anything I can do for the pain? It hurts worse than it ever has in my life...and I've been hypo since birth

Thyroid cyst: When is it time to worry?
I've had a thyroid cyst left side for about a year now. Last year's ultrasound, the dimensions were 0.6cm x 0.3cm x 0.3 cm. This year's ultrasound, it's 0.7cm x 0.5cm x 0.5 cm. I know these are very small dimensions, and the growth from last year to this year is minute. HOWEVER. My thyroid itself is tiny as hell I was told my thyroid should be about 4cm long, and mine is only 1.5 cm long. Given how small MY thyroid is, is this cyst size alarming, or does it not matter to the proportion of the entire size vs. the cyst? I guess my cyst would then be half the size of my thyroid on the left side...Anyway. My doctor says it's no big deal, but with the pain and discomfort, and now the uneasiness knowing the size of the cyst in relation to the thyroid as a whole, I just needed some outside opinions. Should I get a medical second opinion? Or is it really no big deal?Thank you Oh right, I should also add that I've had hypothyroidism since birth and have been on Synthroid since then as well.
