Has anyone ever had a toxic thyroid goiter?
i have to have a biopsy. i'm scared of course but i'm worried about that needle. can anyone share their experience with the same health problem? i keep cancelling my appointments. i've done my research but experience speak louder.

A thyroid goiter with nodules?
i have a goiter with nodules. my tsh always comes back in normal range. for 2 years my doc says watch it. i am tired all the time. my weight goes up and down. i have palpitaions sometimes, my hair is falling out. i hardley sleep which is strange to me seeing as i am always tired. i am achy alot. my new doc has referred me to an endochrinologist. i go the 23. i am just wondering what to expect. i have my bloodwork to take and a copy of my ultrasound, which showed that in the last year, the fluid nodules i had, one turned solid. i am very worried.

I have a thyroid goiter and want to shrink it, anyone have any advice?
I have had a MRI for a unrelated car accident and it showed that I had a chronic 2.3 cm round mass lesion within the left lobe of my thyroid gland. I took a blood test and my T3,T4 and TSH levels were within normal range. I then had an ultrasound and it said I have a toxic nodular goiter. The left lobe of the thriod is enlarged measuring 4.8x1.4x1cm. The isthrnmus is within normal limits. Normal homogeneous symmetric pattern to the thyroid parenchyma. Heterogenous complex nodule involing most of the left lobe 4x2.2x2.6cm. Both cystic and solid components with color doppler flow in it. The doctor wants me to have the uptake test and needle biopsy. From there no matter what the results, 3 different doctirs told me to just take it out in case it develops into something down the road. I have no other signs or symptoms beside some weight gain from my thyroid issue. I don't want surgery unless i have cancer and I would rather stop at this point but the next two tests are being presented as a must based on the size. What do you think about the tests and surgery based on this information and is there anything that would shrink it. Thanks.

Enlarged thyroid goiter please help!?
my thyroid has been enlarged for years now. recently when i went for my physical the doctor asked about it. i said it had been like that for awhile so she recommended a ultrasound which is scheduled for next month. the doctors always noticed it but just did a tsh test which was always normal. i'm super worried now. i've been looking up info online and i'm scared i have cancer. i don't feel any lumps on it. what are the chances it is cancerous. it is freaking me out because i've had it so long. i don't have any symptoms of hypo or hyperthyroidism that i can tell. what else could it be? could it be enlarged for no reason? i just don't understand why doctors waited so long for me to do anything about it. they always made it seem it wasn't a big deal if the thyroid hormone tests came back normal. please any info would be helpful. thankyou.
Could my symptoms be a thyroid goiter?
Hi, i'm a 17 year old female suffering with a weird feeling in my throat for 2 weeks. It feels like something is stuck in the middle or end of my throat. The feeling isn't painful but it's very annoying because it leads me to have difficulty swallowing food or liquids most times. The " lump" feeling goes away and comes back. Every morning i wake up free of it but when i start eating or drinking it begins to flare up again. I went to the doctors and they want my thyroid checked and see an ENT. This is very weird scary and i want to have possible ideas of what it could be? My mom said it could maybe be my thyroid but it could probably me many other things right? please help me if you know anything pertaining to this thanks
Does having a thyroid goiter affect your weight?
I have always had low energy, even as a child. At one point I was anemic. My maternal grandmother had her thyroid removed. I found out about 3 years ago that I have a multi nodule goiter. I'm wondering if this would affect why I can't keep weight off? I tried dieting and exercise for months and lost minimal amount of weight. I also never have any energy, even with a full night's rest. Is this all related? Thanks
Enlarged thyroid. goiter?
my thyroid is enlarged. is this a goiter? i'm not sure what that is. you can barely see it in my neck, but can feel it. it has been " large" for awhile, around 6 years. the doctors always did TSH bloodwork. always came back normal, so they said it was fine since no lumps or pain associated with it. this year my doctor did a TSH test again, the results are not back yet. she also recommended i get an ultrasound. it is scheduled for next month. should i be worried. i am totally freaking out. i've read online it could be enlarged due to cancer. what else could this be? can your thyroid be enlarged for no reason? i am scared all the other doctors acted like it was no big deal. i feel fine and no pain in the thyroid.
Thyroxin for benign nodule on thyroid (goiter) ??????
My swelling is on the right side of neck on the front ,it is for almost 6 months .Upon scanning the image interpretation found was " scan shows thyroid gland in its normal anatomical position .Left lobe appers normal in size with homogenous tracer uptake .A COLD NODULE IS SEEN INVOLVING RIGHT LOBE OF THE THYROID " .... so doctor asked for FNAC of thyroid which resulted in " BENIGN PATHOLOGY SUGGESTIVE OF GOITRE" . My T4 1.26 ng dl and normal range 0.89 1.79 My T3 1.69 ng ml and normal range 1.62 3.77 My TSH 3.48 uIU ml and normal range 0.17 4.05 All of these are well within the limitObviously i m a patient of goiter, here one of the doctor is asking me to take thyroxin and the other one is advising me to get it operated , so is it advisable to take thyroxin as my t4, t3 and tsh is well within the limit .Plz advise i would become hyper hypo thyroidism ,and do u think nodules get shrink by using thyroxin?, kinldy advice or share ur experience
Remedies for Enlarged thyroid (goiter)?
I have an enlargd thyroid. My blood test were normal and the biopsy for thyroid cancer was benign. But I still have the enlarged thyroid. My doctor said that my only choice is surgery because pills won't shrink my enlarged thyroid. Any other advice. I hate to remove something that is vital to so many other things in the body. Especially since my blood did not indicate hypo or hyperthyroidism. I don't wont to take pills the rest of my life or develop other problems from removing the thyroid.
Operation to remove part of swollen thyroid (goiter). Risks associated with operation?
My friend is having an operation to remove part of her thyroid as she has Hashimotos disease and the gland has become quite large. Does anyone have any experience with this and does anyone know of the risks associated with the operation? I have been told it is quite a delicate operation and she will have to be off work for 4 weeks. Many thanks.
