Is it possible to remove a 1/2" thyroid nodule without removing part of the thyroid?

Is it possible to get thyroid nodules biopsied whilst being pregnant.?
My daughter has just had an ultrasound that revealed 5 nodules ranging in size from 49mm down to 5mm. Can she have a local anesthetic to enable a fine needle biopsy to see if the cells are benign? She is 32 weeks pregnant.

Treatment for thyroid nodules?

I have a thyroid nodule. Should I have a biopsy?
My doctor found a small thyroid nodule at my last checkup. I had an ultrasound on my neck and the radiologist radiographer ? said that it didn't look at all suspicious, so the nurse said they'd just have me follow up in a year with another ultrasound. But on the internet, I've read that you should always have a biopsy because there is no way to be sure it's not cancer just by ultrasound. I am meeting with my doctor next week about something else, but do you think I should be adamant about having a biopsy, or is it unnecessary? I am a 25 year old female.

Can a benign thyroid nodule turn into malignant years later?
i have had a biopsy done before when i was about 20 years old. I am now 34 and they are ordering another biopsy. Is it possible for it to be cancerous now? Or is it that once it's benign it will always be benign?

Rapid growing thyroid nodules?
In November, the Doctor discovered a nodule on my mother's thyroid. She had an ultrasound two days ago, and now she has 8. I know this is very common, however is it this common for the nodules to pop up so fast? She has been scheduled for a biopsy, and she has been taking meds for her thyroid for 18 years. If anyone out there has had thyroid nodules, I would greatly appreciate your feedback

Can calcified thyroid nodule turn in to cancer?

Will they remove my thyroid or the thyroid nodule or do nothing?
I have an enlarged lymph node, about the size of a quarter on my neck. A surgeon did a needle biopsy and there was no sign of cancer. I also have noticeably swollen lymph nodes behind my ears, about the size of peas. My doctor also said my lymph nodes were slighly enlarged in my armpits. My general doctor also found a very small nodule on my thyroid, so small that they had to do an ultrasound to make sure what she was feeling was actually there. The surgeon told me that he was relatively sure it was not lymphoma and if it was it would be very treatable because it would be in the very very early stages. He also did not think my lymph nodes were related to my thyroid because he said sometimes when it's thyroid cancer it will spread to the neck lymph nodes, but since I had other lypmh nodes swollen that was unlikely that the two were related. I am still not sure I agree completley with the fact that my other lymph nodes were swollen...because I was sick when I saw him and it would be normal to have all my lymphnodes swollen somewhat... and I only extremely noticeable ones that won't go away on my neck Anyways, I have been having a sore throat for like three weeks, and a hoarse voice that comes and goes, which I have only had once or twice in my life before this. A surgeon who I actually never saw, that just reviewed the ultrasound said the lump on my thyroid was to small for her to even do a biopsy so she is referring me to an endrocronologist. My question is, since the nodule is so small will they or could they even do anything even though I am having all the signs and symptoms of a thyroid nodule?

Thyroid Nodule Stable For Years. What If I Refuse A Biopsy...?
but continue to get it monitored yearly.drs didnt mention biopsy... i was just curiousits 2cm, never grown.found it when i was 14 I'm 23 nowalso have a fatty mass behind under my ear on the bone.complex thyroid nodule mostly cystic.grandma had one too.

Thyroid nodule???? opinions?
I have had a thyroid nodule for years, it's soft and painless and on the left side of my throat. When i say years.....I mean about 15 20. I went to the doctor for it about 6 years ago and the doctor told me if nothing feels funny I shouldn't worry about it. I really didn't like the doctor. The reason I'm writing is because I just learned that thyroid issues can cause dark under eye circles which I suffer from and they are severe. Does anyone know if that can be the cause of under eye circles? I want to get a really good doctor to check it out but I was just curious of opinions.

Thyroid Nodule and Enlarged Lymph Node Near?
I have seen a general surgeon who ordered a second ultra sound, the first showed I had a nodule 2mm, however the tech that did the first could not find the lump that I could feel on my neck, so no answer there. The second ultra sound came back with a thyroid nodule of 4mm hyperechoic 8 months after the first and they also found the lump I could feel on my neck 3cm of a hypoechoic surrounded by hyperechoic mass. The surgeon wants to continue on this wait and watch approach which I have been going through for a year. My voice is scratchy all the time and my hair falling out. Any ideas?

Thyroid Nodule Scare And I Would Like Some Advice, Any Takers?
Hello, hello I'm a female and also, 21 years old.Mm, let's start off with the following > When I was 17 years young a mass in my neck was discovered, by my ex boyfriend. Foolishly, I ignored it and went on with my life. Well, not too long after that I started to wonder what this mystery lump could be and since then, I've been seen my quite a few doctors and ENTs. I get ultrasounds every so often to make sure that it hasn't grown and no one seems too concerned about it. I had a chance to get a biopsy, but my ENT moved. I've mentioned to the others about getting one done, but they don't see the need to do so.Alright, so I'm trying not to bore you. Here's the information in a nutshell The nodule was found when I was 17, I'm currently 21. I'm a female and a mother, just so you know. My grandmother had a benign thyroid nodule, but she got it removed. I technically have two nodules, one is 2cm and is some what complex and the other is most likely solid and is 9mm. The larger one has multiple sepitations spelling? There has been no further growth, so they have remained stable for years. I have had quite a few blood tests done, everything normal. The larger nodule is very firm and not too movable, but will move a little when I swallow, or touch it hard. I can feel the large nodule, but you can't see it, even when I tilt my head back.Huh? I think I covered most of it, I hope. I'm sure I forgot something, but those are the key points. Every record statement that I've read on this, says that it supports a benign condition. What would you do in my situation? The " watch and wait" method, or... should I search, once more, for another doctor? If you're interested in reading my other health concern posts, feel free to look at them. They may help more with this question, who knows? Thank you, everyone and I appreciate the advice.Take care, Bretagne

Can a TEENAGER Get a BENGIN Thyroid Nodule?
I'm 20, almost 21... and a female.I've had a complex thyroid cyst, since I was 15 and that's when it was found, so I most likely had it way before then.I've never had a biopsy, only routine ultrasounds to keep watch on the size which has been and which, still is 2.0CM.My doctors don't seem too concerned about it, but I am of course. My grandmother had a thyroid nodule, but I'm not sure if that would increase my chances of having one.Anyway, my doctors have been and continue to do the " wait and watch" approach, instead of doing a biopsy, since they see no need to they said that if it was cancer, it would have grown, but if it was cancer... I'd be more likely do die of something else, instead of thyroid cancer.Do you think what my doctors are doing is the right thing?i also have a enlarged lymph node on my mastoid bone they are not worried about that either since that can run in families.

Thyroid nodules: information needed...?
i had an ultra sound done on my thyroid... both sides the tech and my doctor said that at least 1 2 of the population in my city have thyroid nodules. and it is very rare for them to be cancerous.the other good news is that my doctor said that now a days.......no one ever dies of thyroid cancer....if you are going to get cancer.....that is the cancer to get ok.....so i dont know that i have cancer....does anyone know that if one does, do they get chemotherapy or radiation treatments..........i hope i dont get chemotherapy..........and im not to thrilled of radiation...but i will do the least evasive treatment.........thank you for your answers
