My sister 25yr, hypothyroidism and thyroid scanning reveals diffuse goiter. Can somebody explain me everything?
age 25yrContinuous weight gainhypothyroidism, T4 .04 and TSH > 100thyroid scan shows diffuse goiter with no nodules.I want to know, is it really a serious matter. And regarding treatment? Does it lead to surgery? Is it curable?
My thyroid has been swollen on the left side for about a week, my Dr. first wanted me to do a thyroid scan?
Now she's not 100 % if it's my thyroid that is swollen or a very, VERY close lymph node. She said it is at about 2 3 cm. just one large nodlue. She now want's me to have a contrast CT scan tomorrow before we move on. Should I get a second opinion? Should I just have the thyroid scan done? I mean, I'll have to get the throid scan done if it turn's out to be my thyroid and then I just wasted 1,700 dollar's I'm really confused What would you do? Also She said her best guess is that with the size it is and with it appearing in a matter of an hour after being sick for a week and then with some of the swelling having gone down, it is either a lymph node infection OR a thyroid cyst. But there is a need to still rule out cancer. Really confused now
If a thyroid scan is abnormal but the lab work is normal, what are the chances that it will be cancer?
lab studies are still normal but thyroid scan remains abnormal and needs to be repeated in 3 months. Interpretation does not say cancer only that it is abnormal and needs to be repeated.
Test results are multinodular goiter, bilateral small cysts.Next is correllation w/a radionuclide thyroid scan?
If anyone has experienced this,any info. is appreciated. This is constant pain.
I started the low iodine diet for the thyroid scan, he said that i probably have Hyperthyroid...?

It says " The left lobe measures 3.3 cm. There is a 5mm cyst in the upper portion of the left lobe." My right lobe showed no cysts and measured 4.7cm in length.The isthmus is normal. " Correlate with thyroid uptake and scan as clinically warranted." I'm not quite sure what that means either. P.S I can feel the lump on my left side, my voice has changed, and I lost over 20 pounds.Thank you for your responses. So far no doctors seem to help. All blood work comes up " essentially" normal except my muscle enzymes, so they haven't done anything.

Yes it is me again... About 8 mo. dr. felt lump on neck he ordered a ultasound. I got busy and never got it until about 3 weeks ago becaus I had been feeling tired and unwell for sometime. So after the US I had a thyroid scan that came out all clear as well as bloodwork.So than next was the CT scan, the scan found no mass or enlarged lymphnodes.Now I am being sent to the ENT. So what do you think will happen next. The Dr. I saw that refered me was suck an asshole I asked him could he feel my neck to see if it is still there, and he said " no ,it's out of my hands now" I don't want to waste time and money so I wanted to see if he still felt it. My other Dr. felt it last week and said he still felt it.I am 26 I am always tired, I am even tired from getting dressed in the morning sometimes. So am I overeacting about the lump. Maybe it dissapred I don't know. What can the ENT see that the CT did not?All thyroid functions are normal. The ultrasound said it was a solid.I know what an ENT is....

I had a throid scan a little over ago,was soppose to do blood work after,but was to tired graves Dieaase,with vthhyroid cancer.I have knots in neck,due to ultra sound,with negitive thyroglobin levels.I've got horseness in my voice and fell presure in my throat that is not getting better.Is it possible since I did not get the thyroidglobin test done that that can cause the negitive thyrioglobin results????Someone please some one help .I'm loosing my mind.Thank you

my mom had a nuclear thyroid scan which showed heterogeneous uptake pattern in both lobes but they saw no evidence of discrete hot or cold nodular focus. Can anyone explain this better?my mom had a thyroid scan
What does it mean if your thyroid uptake was too low on a thyroid scan?
I had a thyroid scan yesterday and was supposed to go back this morning for a second scan. However, they told me not to come back. When I called my doctor's office and told them, they called and called me back and said it was because my thyroid uptake was low. So what does that mean and does it indicate anything?They haven't told me the results yet Duh They only told me that is the reason I didn't have to go for the second scan this morning.

I took a thyroid scan and iodine medication yesterday and I went back again today. The doctor told me that my levels were low. All he really said was that the nomal percent is 25 % and my result is 8 % What does that mean? I have to wait days for my pcp to go over it with me butt I can't wait that long
