I was refer ed to a endocrinologists for a goiter with lesions..after he took a ultrasound himself he told me he had no idea that the goiter and lesions were so huge.. some over 6cm,. he said to rule out cancer it all needed to be removed..My husband is griping about the money it will take..we have insurance but he is still griping..should I go ahead with the surgery or cancel everything and what will happen to me if I let the goiter and lesions go?

I have a 7mm nodule on the left side of my thyroid. I have a doctors appointment next Friday. My THS is low, .434. I feel tired all of the time. I assume I'll be checked for cancer and have the nodule removed, since it is 7mm. Is the recovery for surgery on a thyroid very hard? I am a single parent, two daughters, 18 and 12. Wil I get any energy back?
Can I still have thyroid surgery with severe allergy problems?
I am scheduled to have a thyroidectomy next week, and I'm having horrible allergy problems from all of the pollen lately headache, plugged ears, cough, sore throat, and stuffy sinuses . I'm taking medicine, but it doesn't seem to be working very well. Is this going to be a problem, or will they still do the surgery anyway? I don't have the time to take off work to move it to another week I teach and this is being done during our " Spring Break" .As a side note, to respond to the comment about getting a substitute should I need to reschedule, I work with students with Autism who do not handle ANY sort of schedule or personnel change well. I also happen to be at a school with a very limited supply of subs, so it is much more difficult than it may be for some other teachers. For these reasons, rescheduling isn't really an option.

My mother in law just had partial Parathyroid sp? surgery about 2 months ago. Prior to the surgery she was having problems with memory, so they tested her for Alzheimers which came back negative. The problem is that after the surgery she has become a completely different person. They are treating her depression at the time and have put her on Cymbalta. She still seems confused and has been crying about her mother passing away, which was over 30 years ago. She also seems to be talking " nonsense" which I guess may be part of the anti depressant. I'm curious as to whether or not anyone has dealt with this from this type of surgery, and whether or not there was a misdiagnosis or chemical imbalance going on. Thaks.

I don't have low or high thyroid levels. My levels are normal. But I have a number of goiters and nodules. The surgeon says that he will do a thyroidectomy. Will I gain weight after a such a surgery?
Help emotional after thyroid surgery?
I had a tumor the size of a golf ball on my thyroid and i got half of it removed on the right side about a month ago. Since then i've been so emotional. Some days all i do is cry and others i'm pissed off. I don't feel like myself anymore cause i'm always known for being the strong one. HELP my dad had thyroid surgery 2 and a half weeks ago for thyroid surgery?
and they found out after he got one side out that his cancer spread to some lymph nodes. he has to have surgery again to take out his other thyroid, because apparently, they can't do surgery if they don't take out the other thyroid. then he will have to take iodine pills. they went to the doctors today and found out his blood pressure is 165 during the first surgery, his blood pressure went up to 135 and the doctors said that was ok. His blood pressure went up so much after. Oh, btw, he has a lot of stress because he lives in korea while my mom, my sister, and i live here in the states. My mom is in korea right now to help him so our aunt is staying with us. I'm so worried. Why is his blood pressure going up so much? do u think it's ok for him to have surgery again? he needs to because it spread but it's so scary please help. thank you so much.
